A Bullet Hell Rail Shooter where you get shot to survive

Anima Shin Gun is a fast-paced bullet-hell rail shooter where players must get shot and absorb bullets to survive. By switching to the same color frequency as incoming bullets, players convert them into precious "seconds of life", all while navigating a time loop that resets after each run.

The game features a unique Color-Coded Mechanic, a Time-as-Currency system, and a deeply human narrative of salvation told through the eyes of Amelia, an anthropomorphic animal android, trying to break the time loop she's trapped in; thus, rediscovering the real value of Time and Life itself, with the help of her Anima Shin Gun team.

Inspired by Kid Icarus: Uprising, Star Fox, Nier: Automata and Ikaruga, “Anima Shin Gun” translates the frenetic bullet hell gameplay into 3D with modern storytelling.

Features:

  • Color-Coded Mechanic: Players must match the color frequency of incoming bullets to absorb them and extend their life by increasing the countdown. If the countdown reaches zero, everything resets and it's a game over for the entire loop.

  • Time-as-Currency System: Time is the most valuable thing we have, and everyone wants more of it. Seconds of Life collected from bullets are used to upgrade weapons, unlock power-ups, to advance in the levels, to bargain, to make any kind of progress during the loop, but every second spent is a second less to survive and complete your current run.

Others will need your accumulated time as well, leading to drama between characters, mismanagement and also punishments such as unrequested transformations, erased UI elements from screen, and even time being stolen from you.

  • Deja Vú Time Loops: After each run, based on your decisions and discoveries, each loop will differ in various ways. The world changes, levels rearrange, dialogue shifts, and characters remember fragments of past loops, creating a mind-bending narrative that will question the importance of time, and the meaning of life itself.

  • Set across 8 distinct worlds, each inspired by different cultural identities (Egyptian, Mediterranean, Andean, Japanese, etc.), featuring their own monochromatic art styles, and original soundtracks (have a taste of one of the level background themes composed by Markus Zierhofer right here).

  • Divided into three sections: Rail-Shooting segments, Free-Roaming exploration zones, and Epic Boss Battles. Get rewards and pass to the next level, until you have to start the 20-to-40 min run once again to uncover the mysteries of the loop you're trapped in.

  • With every single character completely voice acted in english and spanish by ecuadorian actors, the dialogue and story develops in real time during gameplay with hilarious and sometimes ridiculous results.
